Four Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC) teams are ranked in this week's American Volleyball Coaches Association NCAA Division III Men's Poll. Joining CVC members Juniata College, Marymount University, and Stevenson University in this week's poll is Eastern Mennonite University.
For the second week in a row it was a CVC member being the only new team to crack into the national poll with Eastern Mennonite holding the honors this week. The Royals picked up wins over Nazareth and Vassar last week while falling in five sets to Kean. Eastern Mennonite is currently 4-3 overall and received 56 total points to finish 12th in the poll. The Royals will have this week off before they face two more ranked opponents next week when they start CVC play against Stevenson and then face non-conference foe Stevens in a neutral site match.
Stevenson moved up two spots in the poll, receiving 63 total points. The Mustangs won all four matches last weekend to improve to 6-2 overall on the year. They will play in a tri-match this Saturday where they will face Lasell, Ramapo, and Baruch.
One week after entering the poll for the first time in program history Marymount came in 13th in this week's poll. The Saints are 5-2 overall and went 2-1 last week with wins over Marian and Elmira. The Saints will have two weeks off before returning to action on February 17th when they open up CVC play against Thiel College.
Juniata College held strong at #15 in this week's poll, receiving 40 total points. The Eagles are 3-3 on the season after going 2-1 last weekend. They will face Johnson & Wales, Nazareth, and Medaille this weekend.
This week the top six teams remained unchanged and there was only one addition to the top ten with Stevenson moving into a tie for 10th place. In addition Eastern Mennonite was the only new team to join the poll and this is the first time the Royals have been ranked since the 2009 season.
