Eastern Mennonite University has jumped into the top ten of the AVCA NCAA Division III Men's Volleyball poll with fellow CVC members Juniata College and Marymount University remaining in the top 15.
One week after entering the AVCA poll for the first time since 2009 Eastern Mennonite climbed up to #10 in this week's poll. The Royals picked up 79 total points from the voters this week and are currently 4-3 on the season. They moved up two spots from last week and are the highest ranking member of the CVC on the poll. They square off against Stevenson University, who dropped out of this week's poll, in the CVC opener on Wednesday night.
Marymount is ranked #12 this week, receiving 59 total points. The Saints are 5-2 overall and moved up one spot this week in the poll after taking the week off of matches. The Saints will actually have another week off before returning to play on February 17th when they begin CVC play against Thiel College.
Juniata College comes in at #14 on this week's poll, also moving up one spot. The Eagles are 5-4 overall and received 26 total points in the poll after going 2-1 last weekend. They will open up conference play this weekend when they face Rutgers University-Newark and Cairn University.
Stevenson was the fourth team from the CVC in the poll last week but fell out this week after going 1-2 last weekend. The Mustangs are 7-4 overall and could jump back into the ball with a strong showing this week as they are set to face two ranked teams and two more teams receiving votes.
The top four teams remained unchanged from last week's poll with top ranked Springfield grabbing a stronger hold on top by picking up 16 of 17 first-place votes. The top teams also separated themselves from the lower ranked teams with the #13 ranked team this week holdin a 25 point edge over #14 ranked team as opposed to last week when teams 10-15 were all within 23 points of each other.
