CVC Player of the Week - April 10, 2023
Christian Sheaffer, Southern Virginia University

Sheaffer closes out the 2023 regular season as the league's Player of the Week. The sophomore helped the Knights to a pair of conference wins, securing a share of the CVC regular season title. He totaled 28 kills, 11 digs, 5 blocks, and 31.5 points while hitting .587 over the two matches. Sheaffer had a high of 16 kills in a sweep of Kean. He averaged 4.67 kills and 1.83 digs per set on the week.

       
   

CVC Player of the Week - April 3, 2023
Kevin Duffy III, Juniata College

This week's award goes to Kevin Duffy III from Juniata College. The middle blocker helped his #3 ranked Eagles to their 10th consecutive win with three victories last week. The graduate student tallied 27 kills and 11 total blocks in the three matches, hitting .512 on the week with 34 total points. He had back-to-back double-digit kill outings including against ranked Rutgers-Newark. He had a high of seven total blocks in his team's win over Kean. 

       
   

CVC Player of the Week - March 27, 2023
Andrew Zaleck, Rutgers University-Newark

Zaleck continues his torrid pace in leading the Scarlet Raiders as he totaled 45 kills and 7 blocks for 50.5 total points in two matches last week. The senior had 18 kills and five blocks in a five-set win over Kean. He then closed out the weekend with 27 kills, hitting .435, with eight digs and two blocks in a four-set win over MIT. On the week he averaged 5.0 kills, 1.67 digs, and 0.78 blocks per set. 

       
   

CVC Player of the Week - March 20, 2023
Andrew Zaleck, Rutgers University-Newark

For the third straight week, and fourth time this season, the senior right-side hitter is the CVC Player of the Week. Zaleck helped the Scarlet Raiders to a pair of wins last week, defeating a pair of conference members. He totaled 27 kills and 32 points in a five-set win over Randolph-Macon and followed with 16 kills against Eastern Mennonite. On the week Zaleck averaged 5.38 kills and 6.0 points per set while hitting .388 and adding eight total blocks.

       
   

CVC Player of the Week - March 13, 2023
Andrew Zaleck, Rutgers University-Newark

For the second consecutive week, Andrew Zaleck takes the CVC Player of the Week award. One week after setting a program and conference record for kills in a match the right-side hitter put down kills on 15 of 19 swings in a sweep of Lancaster Bible. He finished the match with no errors, hitting .789, and added four digs and one ace; totaling 16 points. His hitting percentage is the 5th best in conference history. 

       
   

CVC Player of the Week - March 6, 2023
Andrew Zaleck, Rutgers University-Newark

A record-setting performance secures the CVC Player of the Week award for Andrew Zaleck. The senior right-side hitter put down 39 kills in a win over #7 SUNY New Paltz last week, setting both a school and conference record for kills in a match. His total is also the 4th most in NCAA Division III history. Zaleck did his damage on 66 attempts, hitting .409 in the match; finishing with 41.5 total points and 9 digs along with two aces.

       
   

CVC Player of the Week - February 27, 2023
Diego Pena, Marymount University

The freshman helped the Saints to a 2-0 record last week, averaging 3.88 kills and 2.00 digs per set while hitting .413 and totaling 31 points in the two matches. He had a high of 16 kills against Stevenson, picking up a double-double by adding 11 digs. He followed with 15 kills, and just one error, in a win over Lancaster Bible.

       
   

CVC Player of the Week - February 20, 2023
Christian Sheaffer, Southern Virginia University

Sheaffer was at the center of a big week for the Knights. The sophomore helped his team to a pair of wins including handing the #1 ranked team and conference foe Juniata its first loss of the season. Sheaffer had 43 kills, 7 digs, and 7 blocks in the matches. He had a high of 25 kills against Elizabethtown, totaling 28.5 points and hitting .528 in the match. He followed with 18 kills, 4 digs, 6 blocks, and an ace in the win over Juniata. Sheaffer averaged 5.38 kills, 0.88 digs, and 1.00 blocks per set on the week while hitting .313. 

       
   

CVC Player of the Week - February 13, 2023
Andrew Zaleck, Rutgers University-Newark

A senior at Rutgers-Newark, Zaleck totaled 35.5 points in two matches last week; averaging 3.86 kills and 1.14 blocks per set. He finished with 16 kills, 6 digs, and 3 blocks against #11 NYU. He followed by hitting .579 in a sweep of MIT, totaling 11 kills, 5 digs, and 5 blocks. On the week he hit .266 with 27 kills, 11 digs, and 8 blocks while adding three aces. 

       
   

CVC Player of the Week - February 6, 2023
Ian Wagenhauser, Randolph-Macon College

Wagenhauser, an opposite, averaged 4.00 kills and 1.00 digs per set last week while helping the Yellowjackets to a pair of wins including a sweep of #11 Southern Virginia. The freshman totaled 41 points over three matches, hitting .254 on the week and adding four aces and nine digs. Wagenhauser had a career-high 19 kills against Cal Lutheran. He closed out the weekend with 13 kills and 5 digs in the upset win over Southern Virginia, the Yellowjackets' first-ever win over the conference foe.

       
   

CVC Player of the Week - January 30, 2023
Luke Hoffman, Juniata College

Hoffman is in the middle of the Eagles' best start to a season since 2015. He helped Juniata go 3-0 last week including a 3-2 win over #1 ranked and two-time defending champion Carthage. Hoffman totaled 22 kills and 11 blocks in three matches; averaging 1.69 kills and 0.85 blocks per set while hitting .553 on the week. He had a high of 9 kills in his team's upset win over Carthage and recorded five blocks in two different matches; finishing with 28 total points on the week.

       
     

CVC Player of the Week - January 23, 2023
Kolby Gibson, Randolph-Macon College

The senior outside hitter led the Yellow Jackets to a 3-1 win over D2 school Barton. Gibson finished with a double-double in the match; recording 15 kills and 13 digs. He hit .344, committing just four errors, and added one assist and 19 service receptions without an error. 

       
   

CVC Player of the Week - January 16, 2023
Nate McGhee, Eastern Mennonite University

The first Continental Volleyball Conference Player of the Week for the 2023 season goes to Eastern Mennonite University senior Nate McGhee. The outside hitter averaged 4.08 kills and 2.17 digs per set, hitting .287 over three matches. He averaged 4.4 points per set on the week and added two aces and four blocks. McGhee reached double-digit kills in all three matches including a high of 20 in a win over Roanoke when he recorded a double-double by adding 11 digs. He finished the week with 49 kills, 26 digs, and 53 total points.
