CVC Trio Hold Strong in NVA/AVCA Poll

The trio of Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC) members held strong in this week's National Volleyball/American Volleyball Coaches Association (NVA/AVCA) Division III national poll. For these second consecutive week Rutgers University-Newark, Juniata College, and Southern Virginia University were listed in the Top 15 programs of the country.

Rutgers-Newark remained at #5 on the poll with 207 total points. The Scarlet Raiders are currently 1-0 on the season and will face ranked Juniata this Sunday in a doubleheader. 

Juniata moved up two spots after sweeping CVC opponent Marymount over the weekend in a conference doubleheader. The Eagles are 4-0 on the season and picked up 111 total points in this week's poll, an increase of 33 points over last week. They have a busy weekend ahead with doubleheaders against Elmira and Rutgers-Newark. 

Southern Virginia also moved up, one spot to #14 this week with 43 total points. The Knights are 6-1 on the season with their only loss coming to #13 ranked Lancaster Bible. Southern Virginia is set to play Eastern Mennonite University twice on Saturday.

In addition, Kean University was listed among others receiving votes, picking up eight points. 

The top three teams remained unchanged in the poll, headed up by Springfield. Only one team, MSOE, was a new addition to the poll.
