2021 NVA/AVCA Men's Division III All-America Teams
The Continental Volleyball Conference had seven players named to the 2021 NVA/AVCA Division III All-America Teams with three appearing on the First Team.
Juniata College's Kevin Duffy earned First Team honors after taking home 2021 CVC Player of the Year honors. It is his second appearance on the All-America list; after being named honorable mention last season. Duffy is currently first in the country in hitting percentage and second in the country in blocks per set. In the CVC, he led the conference in hitting percentage (.479), solo blocks (14), block assists (51), total blocks (65), and blocks per set (1.23). He was third in the CVC in total kills (139) and fourth in points (194).
Kean University led the way with three players earning All-America honors this spring; Ian Capp, Jake Milnazik, and Jared Ray. Capp has the distinction of being one of just four players to be named to their third All-America team in their career this season. The senior setter was a Second Team selection this spring and becomes the first three-time All-American in program history. He totaled 118 assists, 78 points, 45 kills, 43 digs, 27 aces and 10 blocks over six matches. He averaged 5.62 assists per set, 3.71 points per set, 2.14 kills per set, 2.05 digs per set, 1.29 aces per set, 0.48 blocks per set and a .229 hitting percentage over 21 sets played. Milnazik also picked up Second Team honors as an outside hitter. Milnazik earns his first All-American selection after totaling 88.0 points, 74 kills, 22 digs and 12 blocks over six matches. He averaged 4.19 points per set, 3.52 kills per set, 1.05 digs per set, 0.57 blocks per set and a .288 hitting percentage over 21 sets played. Sophomore outside hitter Jared Ray was a First Team selectionbecoming just the third first team All-American in the program's history. The sophomore totaled 213.5 points, 194 kills, 69 digs and 20 blocks over 12 matches played. He averaged 5.47 points per set, 4.97 kills per set, 1.77 digs per set, 0.51 blocks per set and a .392 hitting percentage over 39 sets played.
Andrew Zaleck, from Rutgers University-Newark, is making his second straight appearance on the All-American team. Zaleck powered the Scarlet Raiders' offense this season and led the team with 192 kills and had a career-high 28 kills against New Jersey City University to start the year. He hit .289 for the year and added 19 service aces to go along with 30 blocks (4 solo). Zaleck also led the team with 228 points. He finished 9th in the country with 4.17 kills per set and 20th in attacks per set with 8.65.
Southern Virginia University's Nahuel Recabarren made his third All-America team in his career, picking up First Team honors. He was one of just four players to be a three-time All-American this year. Recabarren becomes the first player in program history to earn multiple All-American awards following his First-Team selection in his 2021 campaign. Recabarren ended the regular season leading the team in kills per set with 4.07 (third in the CVC) and overall kills with 171 (third in the CVC) while ranking third on the team with a .295 hitting percentage. Defensively, Recabarren comes in second on the team in blocks per set with .6, fourth in digs per set with 1.26, and fourth on the team in overall digs with 53. Joining him as an honorable mention is teammate Samuel Candland. The sophomore becomes the fourth player in program history to earn All-American honors. Candland ranked second on the team in kills per set (2.87), overall kills (129) while sitting atop the squad in service aces per set with 0.60 (second in the CVC).
