The 2024 CVC Tournament opened up tonight and saw Marymount University and Eastern Mennonite University win their quarterfinal round matches to advance to Friday's semifinal round. Juniata, the #2 seed, will take on Marymount at 5:00 p.m. on Friday while #1 Southern Virginia will face Eastern Mennonite at 7:30 p.m. All matches will be held at Washington & Lee University.
Tickets to the semifinal matches and championship match must be purchased online HERE Adults (13 and up) are $10 each day while kids (6-12) are $5 per day. Students with a valid CVC member ID and Washington and Lee ID as the hosts are free. Anyone under 5 years old is free.
#3 Marymount defeated #6 Rutgers-Newark, 3-1
- Marymount moved on after defeating Rutgers-Newark 25-10, 19-25, 25-17, 25-23
- The Saints hit .387 as a team in the match including .800 in the opening set
- Devon Robinson led Marymount with 12 kills
- Lucas Blanco had a match-high 15 kills for the Scarlet Raiders
#5 Eastern Mennonite defeated #4 Randolph-Macon, 3-0
- The Royals won 25-15, 28-26, 25-22
- Eastern Mennonite hit .400 as a team
- Andre Mill had a team-high 11 kills for the Royals
- Ian Wagenhauser led Randolph-Macon with 17 kills
- This is the Royals first post-season win since 2018
