Chris Mitchell finished with 19 kills and seven digs as the fifth seeded Kean University men's volleyball team advanced in the Continental Volleyball Conference Tournament with a 3-1 defeat of fourth seeded Marymount University on Tuesday evening.
HOW IT HAPPENED!!!
- Kean was held to a negative hitting percentage in their 25-23 set one loss that saw 10 ties and four lead changes.
- Mitchell and Aidan Flinn combined for seven kills and no errors as the Saints missed seven serves in a 25-21 Cougars victory.
- Kean took set three with six kills from Mitchell and two apiece from Vaughn Turner, Danny Pugliano and Tonio Guglietta.
- Mitchell racked up five kills with no errors as the Cougars hit .324 in the 25-22 set four victory.
INSIDE THE BOX
- Flinn finished with eight kills.
- Turner and Pugliano totaled six kills apiece.
- Sean Murphy totaled 11 digs.
