The trilogy is set for the 2026 CVC Championship with Southern Virginia University and Juniata College meeting for the third consecutive year with the conference title on the line. Both programs have won four CVC championships, with the winner tomorrow becoming the conference's all-time leader in championships.
Juniata College opened the CVC semifinals on Friday night with a 3-0 sweep of Rutgers University-Newark. The Eagles won the match 25-20, 25-18, and 25-23 to advance to their fourth consecutive championship match. Tyler Phillips led Juniata with 11 kills while Will Sierer finished with 28 assists. The Eagles hit .282 in the match, compared to .146 for the Scarlet Raiders. The Eagles also totaled 14 blocks compared to just 8 for the Scarlet Raiders. Juniata improves to 28-2 overall and have won 11 straight.
Southern Virginia fought off Kean University in the night's second match, winning 3-1 (25-23, 25-16, 20-25, 25-17). The Knights hit .237 in the match, putting down 52 kills against just 36 for Kean.
They also recorded 11 blocks and five aces, showing off their well-rounded game. David Ward led the Knights with 13 kills and 4 blocks while Tommy Forese also reached double-digit kills with 11. Gehrig Tolman finished with 42 assists and 3 blocks. Southern Virginia improves to 28-4 overall and will be looking to become the first program in CVC history to win three consecutive championships.
